Construction works struggling with mental health difficulties: support is there for you. Steven J Hauck, owner of SJ Hauck Construction, features the launch of a new Lines for Life 24/7 hotline dedicated to construction workers who need help:

Mental health: it’s a topic that’s often overlooked in many professional spaces. In the construction industry, the conversation is often stigmatized and silenced. But the reality is, construction workers battle mental health struggles just like anyone else. In fact, according to Chief Clinical Officer Greg Borders of Lines for Life, recent numbers indicate that construction works are six times more likely to commit suicide; second only to the energy sector. Borders explains that talking about mental health is not what typically happens on the job site. It seemingly has no place in toolbox talks — but Lines for Life is hoping to change that.
Construction CareLine
Lines for Life, a hotline available 24/7 for anyone needing support for their mental health struggles, has launched Construction CareLine: a support line dedicated to construction workers. The hotline is part of the Construction Suicide Prevention partnership which is launchig a variety of approaches to address mental health support of construction workers.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Steven J Hauck has decided to shine the spotlight on Lines for Life — Construction CareLine. The construction industry is hard work and with that space comes the tough guy culture. But as someone who leads his SJ Hauck Construction business on family values with an emphasis on teamwork, Hauck values each member of his team on an individual basis. He’s not afraid to set down the tools and extend a helping hand. While this may be a difficult conversation to have, it is an important one.
